A two centre mountain and Ganges adventure 

Sitlakhet Mountain Jungle Adventure

Sitlakhet is perched on a small hill with breathtaking panoramic views of the snow capped Himalayan range. Our centre is just outside a village of the same name, a short journey by jeep from Ranikhet which is a hill station and cantonment town in the state of Uttarakand. Ranikhet was once a summer base for the British and the HQ of the British Kumaon Regiment. It remains a military base today and has several hospitals, street markets and hotels.

The Sitlakhet Campus, as it is called, was created by Jean Thomas who has a house in the village. It is run by Youreka, a leading education and training company with several other outdoor education centres in India. Youreka is committed to working within our Risk Management System and operating to UK safety standards.

The 'campus' nestles in a forest or "jungle" area with several small settlements and subsistence farms. It comprises two 'Villages' of tents on terraces, supported by a central building, once the home of a Victorian lady, Henrietta Kidd, whose grave is nearby and whose spirit is believed locally,­ to roam the area. There is a medical room, kitchen, dining room, meeting room, and some indoor accommodation. In addition there are several meeting places out of the sun.

Shivpuri Ganges Adventure

Shivpuri is a scenic area on the banks of the holy River Ganges. This area is renowned for the quality of the river for rafting and for most of the year you can see rafts tumbling through long and wide rapids as they follow the water into Rishikesh. Our partners here are Himalayan River Runners, founded in 1988 by Yousuf Zaheer in 1988 with whom we have worked closely since 2007. HRR is undoubtedly one of the leading adventure companies in India and they regularly welcome groups of senior personnel from the UK High Commission in Delhi. They are committed to operating to UK standards of risk management and we have arranged for senior international coaches from the UK to train with them.

The tented accommodation is situated on the beach giving most of the tents fabulous views of the river. We have room for four guests per tent, or two party leaders. Meals are served in the marquee on a full board basis and adapted to international taste. There is also indoor accommodation available nearby.
