Please do ask us more if you are interested.

Vaccinations & Health Matters
Anyone travelling abroad and particularly to Asia needs to visit their local surgery or travel clinic to ensure that they have the appropriate vaccinations for the trip. The party leader handbook will give you more detailed information to help you plan your trip with us and also gives advice on how to minimize the chance of being ill while away.

Food
India is a paradise of good food, and you will sample it with us on all of our programmes. There is a huge variety of fresh food available at all times. It helps if you are accustomed to curries, but you needn't worry about the food being too spicy; there are usually mild or even spice free options. Our advice would be to get in training: eat some good curries before you arrive, and see how much better they are in India!

Packing for your trip
A complete list of clothing and personal gear is contained in the pre-visit paperwork, available after a booking has been accepted. Here are a few general recommendations with regard to India.
Luggage: One main piece of baggage and a day pack. Each member of the group must be able to carry their baggage unaided.
Clothing: High altitude night temperatures in the Himalaya can be cold, make allowance for warmer clothing and a waterproof accordingly. Weather can change rapidly in the mountains and lightweight rainwear is advisable. Local people may be offended by revealing dress. Brief shorts, tight fitting clothing, bare shoulders etc should be avoided by men and women.
Footwear: comfortable walking shoes and sandals/trainers.
Equipment: torch, insect repellent, sunglasses, sun cream.

FREE Party Leader Inspection Visit
This trip starts and ends in Delhi and covers essential training in managing groups in India. We look closely at our risk assessments and the measures we put in place to reduce the likelihood and severity of risks. The visit allows the party leader to be fully prepared by the time their group begins its journey.

Prices
Prices vary considerably depending on: content and length of programme, flights, size of group, and time of travel. We can give a price for your tour when you enquire but this will include an estimate for the cost of flights which cannot usually be confirmed until 11 months before departure.

When to Travel
India is open all year but the climate tends to be more pleasant in the autumn, winter and the spring although the mountain areas can be very cold in winter. The most popular time for travel is February, March, July, August, October and November. End of April until the beginning of September is generally very hot and July and August wet ! However, if you are tied to certain dates or have a preference for certain time of the year there will be a programme suitable. So this is something we will discuss with you when you first contact us.
